Forres Area Tourism Network

The Forres Area Tourism Network (FATN) is the result of collaboration between a number of tourism related businesses in the Forres area working together to enable tourism to thrive.

The Group recognises that:

  • Tourism is an important element of the local economy as well as important to their businesses
  • The Forres area has an excellent portfolio of offerings to visitors, covering many interests and budgets
  • Working together to promote the area and its attractions will deliver efficiencies to its tourism businesses.

Membership of the group, which began in 2013, is open to all businesses and organisations that have an active interest in the development of tourism in the area. There is currently no charge for membership. FACT acts as the coordinator of the group.

Meetings are held on the last Thursday of every month between September and May. Meetings are held either at Forres Town Hall or at a member’s premises. They offer an excellent opportunity to network and get to know each other’s businesses in order to be able to support each other and increase the number and length of stay of visitor numbers to the area.

Walkers are Welcome Town

Forres has been accredited as a “Walkers are Welcome Town” since 2016 until 2020.

Forres has something to offer walkers of all abilities. Our walks range from a short stroll round the award-winning Grant Park to the 100 mile loop of the Moray Way. We have plenty of waymarked paths with good quality maps available free online from the Forres Footpaths Trust. We have an annual mid-summer walking festival (organised by the Moray Way Association) and regular events for walkers.
