Gimp – An introduction
This course will offer an introduction to the free image manipulation software called GIMP. It is equivalent to Adobe Photoshop, offering a broad range of professional tools to manipulate digital images. This course is for total beginners and participants will be encouraged to download the software to use at home. Only basics will be covered but anyone who has experience of similar software will be supported to transfer skills. The course will teach you to composite images, add text, adjust exposure and colour, resize images and other basic functions.

Starting on Tuesday 20th September from 6pm till 8pm. This class will be running for 5 weeks.

You are welcomed to bring your own laptop and we can help you install the free program at the start of the activity. Otherwise you are welcome to use one of ours. You are encouraged to bring a USB to store your files on.
Tim Flood – Tutor Biography
Tim Flood trained at the BBC as a broadcast engineer. He holds a BA in Film, Video and Photographic Arts from The University of Westminster. He is a qualified teacher with experience in England and Scotland in both the Primary and Secondary sectors. For the past 20 years he has been the Director of FloodFilm, a company delivering community video projects, education, training and consultancy in digital media. He has broad experience of tutoring digital media across all age ranges.
