In these relaxed, easy going classes we will be working with pencil, charcoal, acrylics and other water based paints. Looking at the work of well known artists for inspiration. Getting to know our materials and doing lots of drawing and painting. All levels of experience (including people who are new to painting) are very welcome. Materials are provided but if you have your own please bring them along. Minimum age 16.

When it’s Running
Starting on Thursday the 20th of October from 2pm till 4pm. This class will be running for 5 weeks.

Andrea Turner – Tutor Biography
Andrea Turner is a multi-disciplinary artist living in Forres. Her work spans visual art, singing and writing poetry.

Andrea has been working professionally in the arts for over 30 years. She has a BA(hons) in Fine Art from Goldsmiths College, London. Studied for the Dip(HE) Classical music at Edinburgh College and recently completed the Mlitt Creating Writing core module at Dundee University.

Her paintings have been exhibited widely and are held in numerous public and private collctions. As a jazz singer Andrea has sung at venues including the Jazz Bar in Edinburgh and Belladrum and has devised, produced and performed in shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. She was recently selected by Carol Ann Duffy for her poetry masterclass at Moniack Mhor and for the Stanza Masterclass at St Andrew’s.

Her current creative practice is substantially engaged with the local landscape and explores the intimate and individual relationship between people and land as expressed through poetry, painting and song.
