Poetry Writing for Beginners
Have you ever wanted to write poetry, perhaps you have a notebook full of ideas you’d like time and support to shape, or a head full of stories you’d like to share. This gentle, supportive class will look at poems from some of the best contemporary poets and through writing exercises and prompts encourage you to start writing your own. Minimum age 16.

When it’s Running
Starting on Wednesday the 19th of October from 10am till 12pm (noon). This class will be running for 5 weeks.

Andrea Turner – Tutor Biography
Andrea Turner is a multi-disciplinary artist living in Forres. Her work spans visual art, singing and writing poetry.

Andrea has been working professionally in the arts for over 30 years. She has a BA(hons) in Fine Art from Goldsmiths College, London. Studied for the Dip(HE) Classical music at Edinburgh College and recently completed the Mlitt Creating Writing core module at Dundee University.

Her paintings have been exhibited widely and are held in numerous public and private collctions. As a jazz singer Andrea has sung at venues including the Jazz Bar in Edinburgh and Belladrum and has devised, produced and performed in shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. She was recently selected by Carol Ann Duffy for her poetry masterclass at Moniack Mhor and for the Stanza Masterclass at St Andrew’s.

Her current creative practice is substantially engaged with the local landscape and explores the intimate and individual relationship between people and land as expressed through poetry, painting and song.
