Ruth Jeffries, the Befriending Coordinator at Forres Area Community Trust (FACT), recently took to the airwaves on Keith Community Radio to share insights about the vital Befriending Service and the vibrant activities at Forres Town Hall.
The Befriending Service, relaunched in partnership with Highland Hospice, has been a cornerstone of community support since 2017, helping to reduce loneliness and isolation. Ruth highlighted how just a couple of hours a week from volunteers can make a world of difference to those seeking companionship. She also emphasised the satisfaction volunteers gain from building meaningful connections.
In addition to discussing the Befriending Service, Ruth shed light on the dynamic role of Forres Town Hall as a hub for community events and activities. From hosting workshops to providing spaces for local initiatives, the Town Hall continues to be a vital resource for the Forres area.
