What is Job Club?

The Job Club is a dedicated resource designed to empower individuals with the skills and confidence needed to secure employment. These are free, drop-in sessions run by experienced Learning Centre staff and volunteers who specialise in professional development.

Our vision is simple: to provide a collaborative environment where you can access the tools necessary to make a positive impact on your career trajectory. We move beyond basic advice to offer sustainable, practical support that helps you navigate the modern recruitment landscape.

Our sessions are structured to provide tangible results. When you visit the new Forres Digital Hub, you gain access to a suite of services designed to power your career growth:

CV Creation and Modernisation

Your CV is often your first opportunity to make a lasting impression. We assist with creating new CVs from scratch or updating existing ones to ensure they meet current standards. We can also help with cover letter writing to ensure you present your best self to potential employers.

Strategic Job Searching

We provide guidance on how to navigate online job boards and applications efficiently. Our Digital Learning Advisor helps you identify opportunities that align with your skills and career goals, ensuring your search is targeted and effective.

Interview Preparation and Skills Enhancement

Securing the interview is only half the battle. We can offer support with interview preparation and research. Additionally, we can connect you with volunteering opportunities that allow you to learn new skills and enhance your employability.

It has been centuries since the Eurasian lynx roamed the Scottish Highlands. Driven to extinction by habitat loss and hunting, this elusive predator exists now only in history books and ancient stone carvings. But could that change?

The conversation around reintroducing this “missing species” is gaining momentum. Scientific studies suggest that Scotland has the habitat and wild prey necessary to support a healthy lynx population. However, ecological suitability is only one piece of the puzzle. Social acceptance—how you feel about sharing the landscape with a large carnivore—is equally critical.

Now is your chance to join that conversation.

What is Lynx to Scotland?

Lynx to Scotland is a partnership between three leading charities: SCOTLAND: The Big Picture, Trees for Life, and The Lifescape Project. Since 2020, this collaboration has been meticulously assessing the feasibility of returning lynx to the Scottish landscape through a carefully managed reintroduction process.

The project isn’t just about ecology; it is deeply committed to understanding the human perspective. Following study tours to Switzerland and Slovenia to learn from communities living alongside lynx, the partnership is now focused on local consultation. They want to understand the aspirations, opportunities, and concerns of the people who live and work in potential reintroduction areas.

Join the Conversation in Forres

To facilitate open discussion, Lynx to Scotland is hosting a series of drop-in information sessions. These events are designed to be informal and welcoming, providing a neutral space where you can learn more about the proposals and, most importantly, share your views.

The potential return of the lynx is a significant topic for the Highlands and Moray. Conversely, concerns exist regarding livestock, particularly sheep, and the management of a reintroduced species.

These information sessions are not just presentations; they are opportunities for dialogue. Whether you are excited by the prospect of rewilding or have specific worries about how it might impact your livelihood or community, your perspective is essential. The Lynx to Scotland partners are there to listen, answer questions, and gather the diverse range of views necessary to inform any future decisions.
