Communications & Marketing Volunteer

We are currently looking for Communications & Marketing Volunteers who can assist the team by helping to develop FACT Posters, Newsletters, and Brochures as well as posts on social media. This position plays a vital role in our team, and ensures the public know what’s happening in and around the Forres Town Hall.

The role is based in the Forres Town Hall and you will need to have good design skills as well as a familiarity with popular social media sites such as Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. It would be of benefit if you had an understanding of Canva (a poster making website), however training can be given.

The role can be undertaken in a morning or early afternoon. How much you can support us, is up to you.  Just a few volunteering hours a week goes a long way to helping our team do our best for the people of Forres and the surrounding area.

Forres Online – Digital Support Volunteer

We are looking for people to become Digital  Champions who can provide IT support  especially the elderly. You don’t need to be an IT expert, but you do need to be patient, understanding and a great communicator.

You’ll offer friendly and patient support to learners, so that they build their confidence, know how to find further help, and stay safe online.The role involves attendance at our support sessions and outreach visits. Helping people who are new to technology and perhaps assisting them remotely by telephone and other means. If you have experience of some coaching, mentoring, tutoring or teaching before that’s great. The role is based in Forres Town Hall.  There is free digital champions training available to volunteers. The role can be morning and afternoons and you will need to be able to cover at least one of our sessions in our Forres Online timetable.

Volunteer Befriender

Our mission to promote the well being of people in and around Forres, is helped by volunteers joining us as “Befrienders”. They help make life more enjoyable and fulfilling by reducing social isolation. You might befriend people through our telephone befriending service, through face to face work, or by supporting local events and activities.

We are looking for volunteers with a friendly, outgoing personality, an empathy for others, and who want to make a difference. Befriending calls are typically made in the morning or early afternoon, although events and activities can run at different times during the day.

How much you can support us, is up to you.  Just a few volunteering hours a week goes a long way to helping our team do our best for the people of Forres and the surrounding area.

Gentle Seated Exercise -Interim Break

There will be no Gentle Seated Exercise Class for weeks 1st August, 8th August and 15th August. Normal classes will resume on 22nd August.

All Regular attendees can come along on the 8th August @10.30am for a cuppa and chat! See you there.

Pay Scale: £28,174.00 pro-rata, (£15.48 per hour)
Hours of Work: 16 hours per week, to be worked flexibly, may be increased subject to funding
Contract Length: 24 months

An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen to help people in the Forres area make a real positive difference in their lives. As the Befriender Co-ordinator you will work in conjunction and in collaboration with the current Development Team at FACT and with the many Support Partner Organisations and Agencies we work with.

This post will continue to develop the Befriending programme and coordinate a programme of diverse activities for those living in the Forres Academy Catchment Area that aims to address isolation & loneliness, in particular, those that may be hard to reach.
